- Infants: 3 - 3.6 kg.
- Placenta: 0.5 - 1 kg.
- Amniotic fluid: 1 kg.
- Breasts: 1 kg.
- Womb: 1 kg.
- Increased blood volume: 1.5 - 2 kg.
- Increased liquid volume: 1.5 - 2 kg.
- Fat reserves: 3-4 kg.
Healthy Tips to Raise Weight During Pregnancy
Pregnant women do need more calorie intake, but that does not mean having to eat food for two people at once. For pregnant women who are included in the category of under normal (underweight) before pregnancy, can do the following ways to help increase weight during pregnancy.- Eat healthy and nutritious foods regularly.
- Eat small portions but more often (about 5-6 times a day).
- Add extra calories to the food consumed, for example adding cheese to food, peanut butter to bread, or milk to cereal.
- Always provide snacks, such as biscuits, dried fruit, nuts, seeds, and yogurt.
